1-st day: 300 km
Arrival at “Okecie”-Airport in Warsaw. Sightseeing tour in the capital of Poland, with local guide. (Simultaneous translation by the Bulgarian guide, if needed).
The capital of Poland – Warsaw is the largest city of the country with a population of more than 2 million citizens. The city is situated on the banks of Vistula River. The tour includes: THE OLD TOWN – a walking trip, following the itinerary: The Royal Palace, The cathedral of St. John the Baptist (St.Jan), „Starowka” – the main square of the old town, the statue of the mermaid- (a symbol of Warsaw), the fortress walls, the monument to the little rebellion (Mały Powstaniec), built to commemorate the children-soldiers, who fought and died during the Warsaw uprising; the monument to the famous Polish poet Adam Mickiewicz, The presidential palace, Pilsudski square; The grave of the unknown soldier. After lunch – departure to Krakow,hotel accommodation, dinner, overnight.
2-d day: 0 km
After breakfast – sightseeing of Krakow with a local guide – Wawel hill: The cathedral (the sarcophagi of the Polish kings, Zigmunts bell) , The entrance of the Kings yard; walking trip along the – Royal road: the churches of St. Peter and Paul, of St. Andrej, the churches and monasteries of The Franciscan and Dominican Orders; The main „Rynek” – main square of Krakow, Sukiennice (medieval „supermarket”, where now-a-days the most beautiful souvenirs in Krakow are sold), the fortress walls with Florence Gate and Barbakan – medieval door, leading to the Old Town; the square of Jan Matejko, the most known Polish painter; the monument to Wladislaw Jagiello – erected in 1910 to commemorate the 500 years anniversary of the defeat of The Teutonic Knights at Grunwald. Free time. Festive dinner in „Ogniem i Mieczem”-restaurant – traditional Polish specialties. Overnight.
3-d day: 30 km
After breakfast a visit to the old Jewish quarter – KAZIMIERZ – sinagogs and praying houses; „Szeroka”-street – the heart of the Jewish quarter. Departure to WIELICZKA. Visit to the old salt mine – one of the most visited sights in Poland, included in the cultural heritage list of UNESCO. This ancient mine constitutes a maze of underground corridors with a total length of more than 300 km, with about 3000 halls, situated on 9 levels, the deepest of which reaches a depth of 327 metres. The tourist‘s itinerary has a length of 2 km. Visitors pass trough corridors and 22 halls. In the biggest of them is situated the chappel of St. Kinga. On display are ancient miner’s tools and implements as well as statues of salt. The trip is being guided bz a local guide, telling stories and legends, както from the centuries old WIELICZKA. Drive back to Krakow, free time, dinner, overnight.
4-th day: 70 km
After breakfast - departure to Auschwitz-Birkenau. A visit to the former concentration camp of the Nazis, in which during World War Two more than 1,5 million people were killed – Polish, Jews, Gypsies and other nationalities. The visit starts with a 50 min film, showing the liberation of the camp. A visit to the pavillions follows, where the prisoners lived , the gas chamber, the crematorium. Aushvitz-Birkenau was put in the list of UNESKO. Return to Krakow, dinner, overnight.
5-th day: 200 km
After breakfast – departure to ZAKOPANE – „the mountain capital of Poland”, a town, situated in the highest and most beautiful mountain of the country – Tatra mountains. Sightseeing walk, a visit to the wooden churches and houses of the XIX century, built in the so called ”Zakopane (mountain) style”. Upon request a climb, by the cabin lift to mount Kasprowy Wierch (1 987 m). On the way back to Krakow – a visit to CHOCHOLOV (interesting, wooden houses from the XIX. century). Back in Krakow, dinner, overnight.
6-th: 100 km
After early breakfast, departure to the airport of KATOVICE-PYZHOVICE.
